I think I made my beef pretty clear, you're just not grocking it and it's not even close to worth repeating myself once more.

Well you're right, I didn't "grock" it until Davion explained to
me that you thought I had intentionally changed my default background
in order to make dubmud look worse.

Suffice it to say…LOL.

I actually found white on black worse than Crat's screenshot. So there.

@Dubstack: You need to understand that you came onto the forums two weeks ago asking for help starting up a MUD. You are now claiming to be at a stage in development (you're calling it Beta) where you require testers. If this were actually the case, you would be the fastest MUD developer in the world, but it's not and you're not. The people who should be testing your MUD at the moment are you and your fellow staff members. Everyone else is going to, as Crat and I have, get a bad impression.

Just for perspective: I'm working with a codebase that's not riddled with bugs (like yours seems to be) and my game is progressing quite nicely at the minute, but I would still not be comfortable showing anyone outside of my (non-existent) development team. Why? Because it's not ready for testing yet, and neither is your MUD. It's possible that your MUD will one day be as cool to everyone else as it is to you, but at the moment it's not and you should be working on improving it rather than simply hanging out here pimping it and getting aggro at people who criticise you.

Lastly, if you're only going to reply to this post with excuses, I'd rather you didn't reply at all.

Ok lets see, I'm sorry if i offended anyone with my title of [Is Fuckin God] didn't know it was that big of a deal, but i guess to some people it is. Might as well not watch any movies, goto the local coffee shop, or out to dinner nowa day's eaither then eh because there is profanity everywhere.

I think it was made clear as to why the use of profanity in a title was unprofessional. I will quote it for you in case you didn't see it.

Confuto said:
2. Professionalism. You lack it (who would've guessed?). I don't particularly mind profanity in and of itself, but when I log in to a MUD, type "who" and the only person online is an immortal called "Michael is the fucking bomb" or something to that affect, that tells me all I need to know about the game. I realise that you're doing this as a hobby, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't have a somewhat professional attitude. You should treat basically everything that the player sees from the moment they log on as promotional material for your game. The only professional industry in which you regularly see words like "fucking" in promotional material is the porn industry. The fact that one of the admins on your game had a profane title illustrated to me that you don't really care what kind of image your game (or, even worse, that you don't realise profanity has a negative affect on said image) has and that that particular admin was immature. I'm sure there will be people who disagree with me on the profanity front, but I think that unless a particular part of your MUD requires profane language, it should be avoided.

We all know some people like to show off the big brains they have because they lack somewhere else and choose to belittle people that are learning. So you to people find someone else to pick on, to the ones that tried to help thanks alot!

Is that not a bit hypocritical of you? However, thank you for further ironing out my opinion on DBZ MUD Administrators. However, +10 for the use of the shift key in at least 33.33% of the correct places. Thank you for the entertaining post.

Thank's for the compliment and finding something wrong. As there is never anything right? Once again people have to show off the big brain they have in lack of what they can't do. And I don't know why you chose to pick on me now. I was just stating the obvious that people would RATHER be complete assholes anymore than help someone.

^.^ Yay go Hellion couldn't said it better my self… Not really I would hace just told them to go fuck themselves but after the first post on this forum was to get a coder (Got one *wink*). Now I posted on here first asking for Builders/Beta testers even when telling you about the mud in the post, it reads
Quote
I would like to welcome you to the hiring forum of Dragon Ball Universe. We as a mud "Dragon Ball Universe" would like to ask for a leading hand in any builder who has exp in building on dragon ball mud's or base circle, and if you have zero exp we will teach you how to build.

We the mud "Dragon Ball Universe" are in a Gamma/Beta stage right now. Which means we are using a old code and fixing it up to be brand as a new mud, everything we are working towards is a new life for this old run out circle Dragon ball mud's we want to bring forth a new world, a new Universe hint the name of the mud.

Everything you will find is new or fresh if is old we will fix it up. If you log on now you can see what it will look be for we are done. We need beta tester to test out the mud for bugs/and typos (Every mud has a few).

When "WE" the mud "DBU" add something or edit it "WE" vote on it so everyone has a say in what goes into the mud (unless it just can't be add or it will void a move or bug the mud) or than those reason will be adding real life stuff as well just time will tell when we open for real. So please come test for us and apply to build for us as well.

I'm the owner, below is the host and port to log on, enjoy!

Host: zeno.biyg.org
Port: 1987

I think I was pretty clear when I first posted on the forum on the using of an old mud code that has bugs and typos and I even said "if it is old will fix it up". We are doing that but when people who are dicks or like to spam forums with let downs and bullshit well hey that's all good. But when you give shitty feed back cause of you can't meet someone halfway and even let it be known that you didn't even try to go halfway well damn that's dumb your a dumb ass I will let it be known. Anyhow I have meet your goals from the post on the asking for a coder to code on a Final Fantasy mud if you want I will go get all the quotes that you said I wouldn't do this or this and I did them. I have yet to get any credit to me for all the hard work I have done. You people make it hard for people like me to get builders cause you go and play something that was told to you that was old stocked was being worked on, and still had the balls to say it sucked. Damn you must feel real smart. Anyhow I am getting off track about what the post was to be about.

I want to hire builders who have exp or not. I will teach you how to build, if you have exp I got jobs waiting. As for Beta tester this mud is going change as you play we need at lease 7 testers to test the mud and make sure everything works right. So please if you got time and want to learn I will test you just put in the time and you will be reward.

I choked trying to read that paragraph(?). Please, learn English :(. It's the language people on this board use to communicate, and it's frustrating (for me at least) to try and decipher your jumble of horrible grammar and spelling.

On a side note: I don't think you need to end every post with the host/port for your game. It's already in your signature; or did you forget?

You guy's must think that am just as dumb as you all huh I can speak normal English, I just can't type so why don't you lay off and let me get some builder's to come post on here. I mean that is what this forum was for to hire builder's, and tester's right? I did you understand stand that or do I need to break down?

This whole thread made me laugh out loud.

And at the end of it all, I wish I could have that 30 minutes of my life back that it took me to read it. A couple of things worth responding to though.

Firstly, there's no apostrophe in the word Thanks. Secondly, Dubstack came on asking for people to give opinions. People logged on. Checked things out. And then reported their opinions. Opinions that were requested. Advice was given. The fact that you can't see the advice is proof to me that you can't look beyond negative feedback, to see constructive criticism when it's offered. Which is sad, because it most assuredly leads to poor administration of the MUD and an overall lack of players because the admins never listen. *shrug*

This… makes no sense. You come on here, and ask us to beta-test your completely stock mud. And then you get pissed when people point out that it's stock, your colors are giving people epileptic fits, and then offer advice on how to fix the issues they saw, and you're going to call them dumb asses? "Damn you must feel real smart." Lemme point something out. You can't ask people to beta-test a Stock Codebase with from what I saw, very little changed. That doesn't count as Beta. That counts as Alpha. Beta means you're ready for players. And you're obviously not. Since you can't even handle criticism from people who do what you're trying to do on a daily basis.

This whole post has just gone to show how the majority of DBZ Admins are immature and unable to take any form of criticism, be it bad, or good. Ok. So. Dean's the only one I've met that's any good at taking criticism, so meh.

I now need the past 45 minutes of my life back.

No…. I wasn't saying I can't take it. If there was something positive to listin to I might accept it. I'm always open to opinions and idea's. The thing that made me mad was that yes not all of us are english major's, so im sorry if everyone's spelling is not up to par. And yes i took ALOT of the info in that was all over this part of the forum. ESP building issues and we JUST started so yes it is going to take some time. I do understand that and thats why im not asking for players whatsoever. It is noted and it will all be fixed in the time it takes to create this place.

rofl damn made me laugh all I want is some builder to long on and help build than it turned into this no one should have posted unless they where going to build on here. I mean in all honest blame the second person on the forums for all these post. I wasn't saying they didn't do what I asked I was saying they didn't even try to change the client to even match my mud after they seen clearly they need to and even made a dumb post about not even trying to change and play it. Anyhow I was asking people to come look cause they didn't believe me I guess and now they do its not that I can't take criticism it is people shouldn't just be like mud is lame cause I didn't take the time to change my coloring cause this guy my not know I use this. Anyhow you 5 minutes and don't even level in like any of the leveling zones or go try to find a mob that gives you info about quest. From what I can tell people who came on just played 5 minutes was like okay no point in trying to play like a real player log on to the forums and come post what you call criticism I just call it people not trying to take time. How about logging on and playing for 2 days a real player. Than and only than you can make a critic remark. Make sure you log all your stuff and post on here so we can see what you did.

I don't think myself or anyone else is an English major either (please speak up if you are!), but I'm assuming both Dubstack and yourself are at least high school age? Perhaps early 20's at best? I'm not even asking anybody to be perfect in what they write; just make it readable, please. I seriously can't see how anyone can write so illegibly unless you are honestly still in grade school. Communicating effectively will not only help others help you, but it's also part of the professionalism a few people have touched on, and, I'd hope, common courtesy to those of us trying to read what you wrote.
