A little update. I've fixed quite a lot of bugs and am pretty much ready to start adding new features soon. I have a couple of prestige classes in mind, then It'll be back to the space system for me. I'll also be working on other little suggestions people have that don't take up too much time, and probably fixing some more bugs.
If you haven't tried us out, give it a whirl. If you have, well, keep on logging in :)
d20MUD: Star Wars has reopened it's doors as a role play required MUD.
This differs from a traditional RP Enforced MUD in that role play is required through the code, to maximize your levelling rate, else exp penalties will be incurred. This is managed through the proper use of role play channels, and the only rp rule that is enforced, is making sure players use in character channels for role play only.
We have also doubled the amount of experience, rp points and account experience you get from role playing, and every 3rd hour (server time) is role play hour, wherein these amounts are increased even more.
We are busy working on adding more things to the MUD that will improve the role play experience.
One thing we have added recently, to compliment our mentor system is the apprentice system, wherein you can assign another character as your apprentice, and that character will gain bonuses when grouping with you to stats and experience gains, as long as they are lower level than you. Characters may only have one apprentice at a time, and choosing a new apprentice after leaving your old apprentice incurs a 1 week, real time, waiting period.
If you've never heard of us before, we are a d20/SAGA Edition rules Star Wars MUD set in the Sith Wars era of the Old Republic. Some of our features include:
- auto experience rewards for role playing - detailed, clean-looking score sheet - mentor system allowing you to group with any level - optional pvp system - ascii automap in room descriptions - crafting system allowing you to create your own gear with custom stats and descriptions - traditional, diku-style pulse based combat - MSDP & MXP enabled code - pet system allowing for mounts, pets and companions that can tank for you and offer additional attacks each round. - multiclassing system - menu based levelling process - d20 feat, skill and spell/force power systems - mob bounties awarding exp, credits and quest points - coded quests, some of which offer unique story lines - 6 base classes, force adept, scout, scoundrel, squad leader, soldier & trader (try saying that 5 times fast!) - 19 base races and 3 advaced races (with more to come) - 4 prestige class (weapon master, jedi knight, gunslinger, sith apprentice, more to come) - taxi system for travel between zones (planets are too big for roads-only in our minds) - shuttle system for travel between planets - phase 1 of space system complete with purchasable ships usable to travel between planets - 9 force powers to date (more to come) - 4 planets, with 11 zones so far - market ward area for selling objects to other players, saving over reboots - item bank for storing and sharing gear between characters on the same account
We also have a GUI built for MUSHClient and another one almost done for MUDLet. I will release the MUDLet one upon request before it's complete as well.
And just so everybody knows, I have begun building for this mud because I enjoy it so much. I am currently finished with the first area of Kashyyyk and am about 75% done with the 2nd. Kashyyyk will be a good planet for all players, level 1-30 as an exping planet, a shopping planet, and a quest planet. I am planning an extensive storyline quest revolving around the Czerka takeover of kashyyyk and eventual enslavement of the wookiees. There are a lot of really neat things planned for the future, both on the code side and on the building side. Come on in and give us your input.
Kashyyyk is now open for players. It has a market and starport and exp areas for lvls 1 through 15 at the moment. The lvl 16-20 area will be done by tomorrow.
Jedi Knights now have specific feat specialization paths for jedi guardian, sentinel, consular and shadow. Sith apprentices now have access to the lightsaber forms previously only available to the jedi knight prestige class.
Join our d20 / SAGA rules Star Wars game today. We are a MUD that is truly different from all the rest. Come try us out and you'll agree.
Just thought I'd give this a bump. We've altered the armor system to make fortitude a more useful defense type and to make each armor type be uniquely viable depending on your build. We've also done a bit of rebalancing with certain aspects of the game. If you've tried us, come back and take a look at what's new. If you haven't, come give us a look… we're sure you've never played anything like us on the Internet.
We've done a bit of tweaking and adding the past couple of days. Check out what's new:
Whirlwind attack and Autofire now contribute much less combat spam Condition Monitor Adjustments now contribute potentially a lot less spam Added the game channel for game discussion Added the support channel for player to player support and questions (also viewed and responded to often by staff) Added the rifleman prestige class Added the carbineer prestige class Added the ability to list class feats/talents by class using the 'feats <class name>' command
The biggest new feature we have is pvp hour and faction hour. pvp hour is simply an hour wherein pvp rewards are doubled. Faction hour is a little different. Check out our help file on it for more info:
———- FACTION-HOUR
Faction hour is an hour of both pvp and rp rewards.
The first thing you should know is that anyone can be killed by another player anywhere in the game, whether their pvp flag is turned on or not, during faction hour, except people who are in an cantina.
During faction hour, all players receive double pvp rewards and double rp rewards. In addition to that they gain additional bonuses based on how well their faction has performed during faction hour this week.
Role paying during faction hour gives morale, which translates into attack roll, damage and defense bonuses for the pvpers. On the flip side, pvp kills against opposing factions offer bonuses to role play experience for the role players during faction hour. These bonuses save over copyovers and are reset once a week.
