I haven't used webmin in a few years, however back when I did it gave me nothing but problems. It seemed like every now and then (especially after software updates) the various modules would just up and break. Likewise, it would occasionally break a config file here or there.

If I was you (the OP), I'd take the time to familiarize myself with your distro's package manager and the various config files and utilities that come with your software.

Webmin works fine for me, but I'd still prefer phpmyadmin over the crappy SQL management it offers. :/
