*Read this before reading the story*

I know that this is a f*cking amazing story
that I wrote (insert self-righteousness), but
when you enter the MUD keep in mind that this
is a stock MUD. Of course I am working my arse
off to bring my users the best that they could
possibly receive and yes, of course all of this
will be in the game eventually.

You first start off in the city of Maliss which
is a kind of downtown NY, if NY had been overrun
by zombies, demons, and mutants. Maliss will be
the first and only city in the game at first, but
please keep in mind that the city will be HUGE (
still building}. The city will obviously go into
great detail on how everything happened (more in-
depth than the main storyline). You will meet
many friendly people along the way and of course
the very sinister.

I have already written out 3+ dungeons for the
game as well that will be group based. All of
the dungeons that I/we create in AL will be
unique from each other and have unique bosses.

As you can see this MUD is going to need 'hella'
a lot of builders or else I'll be stuck building
this MUD for months on my own. So if you think
you could help to build then please don't be afraid
to get a hold of me in-game or by email.
*Now you can read the awesome story guys. :3*

STORY

The war of the humans began in the year 2012.
Factions have been formed; The Templers, Brothers
of Blood, The Circus Freaks, and Hells Riders, in
order to eliminate the government super powers and
to fight for their own rights to certain territories.
There is no law other than that of the laws that are
formed in the factions. The Police are non-existent
and the governments of the world have hired on their
own mercenaries to personally protect them from the
anarchy.

Presidents and kings from around the globe communicated
via satellite feed on a secure connection to discuss
how to end this crisis. Outnumbered and with their
backs getting closer and closer against the wall from
continuous raids from the factions they looked at the
problem and came up with the only answer that they could
come up with. It was unthinkable but at the time they
saw it as the only way to end the massacre. Total faction extermination was sought out through the use of the
governments weapons of mass destruction. Generals were
given the order to launch the bombs to every key point
that a faction base camp could have been located.
Naturally the world leaders took refuge in underground
bases to wait out this new Hell on earth.

And the world burned for weeks or months. No one knew
for sure. The ones that were unlucky enough as to not
find a fallout shelter were left outside to face their
doom. The ones that were at the location of the strike
died instantly but, the ones within blasting range were
hit by a wave of corrosive radiation, melting skin off
of bones. The ones who were outside of the blast zone
had only minutes before air currents came in and hit
them with a dose of heavy radiation. Not to burn or
incinerate but to mutate and poison them. Causing
horrifying transformations and grotesque creatures only
dreamed from science fiction movies.

The people who were sheltered from the fallout waited
for the screams and shouting to stop before they stepped
out of their holes. What they found horrified and
chilled them to the bone. The landscape was in ruins
and where houses still stood were in shambles and burnt.
Trees were on the edge of extinction. They stood with
no leaves and black as midnight. Burnt bodies littered
the melted streets and sidewalks. You could see a crater
or two from the blasts every 20 miles or so. A picture
from the depths of hell could describe what they looked
out to.

And what did you think we did as a species? We left our
ash colored tombs and we kept on surviving. The
government didnt wipe out even one faction but were able
to destroy over 70% of the worlds population in mere
hours. The factions rebuilt and raged war on each other
as always but the government hid or maybe they didn't
survive. Maybe their conscious hit and they did themselves
in. Whatever the case our world had been changed.
The area deemed unlivable or outside of the towns became
known as The Barrens.

Your story begins in the city of Maliss. You are charged
with the job to pick a faction and survive by any means
possible. Remember, factions arent the only things that
you need to watch your back over. Since fallout,
creatures have been mutating, killing, feeding, and
repopulating since the survivors of the fallout came out
of their shells. Get ready to shape your apocalyptic legacy.

You've posted three promotions for your stock MUD in the last two days.

Does this strike you as being excessive?

If it's excessive to you then excuse me.

As for me, no.

You really have to knock this off. You're acting like you're advertising an open mud. You've
started an excessive number of threads here and elsewhere, for inviting people to come
play your stock mud, which as I understand it, has been reinstalled twice in as many days,
wiping out the progress of the people who actually paid attention to you.

You are doing this wrong. You have a new project asking for builders. Post for recruitment
maybe once a week, certainly not with the frequency we've seen thus far. And don't post
acting like there's a new mud for players to join. Clearly that is flatly untrue.

Just calm down. There is no fire.

Ghost, I can understand that you're super excited about your mud right now. However you're not going to make good relations on forums like this by the way you're going about promoting.

On the flip side, you do want to harness this excitement so it's not just a flash in the pan and a month from now your code is collecting dust. I would recommend starting a blog/site with a RSS feed (on any free service like Wordpress.com, etc.) so people can keep track of your progress if they want to, then keep a devlog thread here at MB where you post with major updates (so like once a week or whatever).

I understand. I found a builder with the same ideas as me so I'm going to be focusing on my MUD now. Maybe advertise every now and again.

*Edit*
Features: Original story, classes, races, and areas.
Theme: Post Apocalyptic.

The MUD is open to normal players, but it's in a stage of construction. So if you want a complete and polished MUD stay away for the time being.

If I failed to introduce the fact that I'm not really looking for normal users, but builders I'm sorry if you were confused or I confused you.

*Builders*
I'm currently looking for builders for my MUD. The first city you start in, Maliss, is going to be huge and I'm going to need some help in gutting out the stock and replacing it with fantastic new areas and NPC's. Only looking for builders that want to have a steady, current project and that can actual spell correctly. I don't want to have to go back on their work and check it. I'm not just looking for people that have been building for a while, I'm also open to newbie builders because I'm willing to teach. Either way I don't want to have to baby them around about things that need to be getting done.

I have a lot of work already typed out and ready to be dev'd I just need my builders!
