Do you even use a diagram / flowchart editor?

I've found FreeMind useful to play around with. I have a pretty good representation of my MUD's skill tree using it.

Visio is the most common tool out there for this that I've seen. Some people also mock up stuff in PowerPoint. You can get a PowerPoint equivalent in OpenOffice for free.

There's one called Dia that I've heard favorable reviews of. I think it's some sort of open source Visio knock-off. I'm too lazy to actually look it up right now, though.
