Ok, I finally figured out and updated imcconfig. I'm connected on the network, I'm on the imcchanlist, I'm listening to a couple of channels, I get the news feeds etc, and I was seeing the ichat channel until I tried to talk on it and got this;

ICE@Server01 imctells you 'You're trying to talk on a channel that you don't have access to.'

Then the channel disappeared from my imcchanlist and I can no longer listen although it's still listed under imclisten.

What have I done wrong, or haven't done that I can't use ichat?

The only thing I have to add is that the client builds the channel list which in turn is how the client knows what channels are valid.

I doubt it's a problem with the server actually receiving your packet. I think it's an issue with your clients built channel list for whatever reason.

Not all of the clients work like this, as a side note.

I don't know for certain that this is what's going on. But Rommel@MatrixMUD is experiencing similar issues. And his issues arose after Kiasyn put something into the Server's to stop Charles@SW:TGA from talking on the network, without banning the MUD he was on, because everyone likes Keberus, it's just unfortunate that Keb has Charles working for him, and giving his MUD a horrible reputation on the network. But that's beside the point.

I'm assuming that while Kiasyn was making the modifications for Charles, he probably added The_Fury to the list as well. Which is the reason Hana can't talk on the channels, because Fury is in her Mud Name. But again, I'm not the server admin anymore. I don't have access to the servers, I can only make wild stabs in the dark with regards to it.

TheFury was already added, I see no reason why it would be effecting it.

Can you post the output of your imcchanlist
