I was playing around with the swfote code and noticed a rip command that does something for visual clients. I've never heard of this before and was wondering what client would be needed to take advantage of this command. If anybody has any info regarding this please educate me.

Now if i remember correctly, RIP was a standard like VT100 etc that was used to display data on a screen, the only time i used it was like 100 years ago on a BBS. RIP support should be pulled out of muds and thrown in the bin IMO.

interesting, do you know any clients that work with it though? I'd be very interested in seeing it.

Thats a long time ago, try searching for xmodem, kermit or dos terminal emulator,

here is a link to all the old dos ones on simtel http://www.eunet.bg/simtel.net/msdos/com...

RIPTerm is another, but these are like ancient beasts that ran on 8088's.

I'm sure it'll be good for a laugh, I'm just a curious guy who wants to see it in action.

[edit to correct my rudeness] Thank you for the links.
