Lol, true that. I actually put in an imm-idle code so that it drops people if they don't move for 60 minutes (if they aren't switched, RP imms used to get grumpy lol). We used to have this one IMP ages ago that'd leave her char connected while she was off driving truck.. like idle… 8 days. After I got done dressing her up funny and all that, we'd force quit her, the idle code finally made that unnecessary (the quit part ;p).
I'm guessing though yeah, mine are pretty accurate for a total, when I wasn't active on player port, usually it was due to building or coding. Maybe shave off a couple thousand for good measure ;).
My current project's IMM char, started 2 and a half months ago, has 594 hours logged.

My wizard *might* have a total of 7 minutes logged in on my mud. And that was just because I stepped outside for a cigarette without shutting it down once. I only start the mud up long enough to log in and do a quick check to see if my latest changes are working. I am currently working on a way to forgo even that small amount of effort.

Same here. It would be more telling to see how many hours I have logged in vim/etc. than in the actual MUD.

I've thought about adding in code that when someone hits the "idle" state (let's say 20 minutes) then it automatically deducts 20 minutes from their play time and then fails to continue to count until they are no longer idle, so that way we would get a true representation of their play-time.
I rarely sit idle on my game, I maybe total about 100 hours idle time.
My play timer is at: 5430
So that's over 5000 hours of legitimate play time :p That also doesn't count this being about the 3rd or so pfile I've been on since I started working on this game (for one reason or another). If I were still on my original pfile, that number might be about 3k higher.
Yeah, you read that right. my Imm hasn't logged out since Dec 31st 1969.
(Granted I wasn't alive then, but you get the picture. ;) Needless to say, I broke something inadvertantly. :P)

Hey DavidHaley, I wasn't able to see the video due to NBC copyright infringement. Does it have anything to do with the SNL Will Ferrel cowbell skit though? =)
The house needs cleaning, though, maybe I'll just throw a party on the MUD. :)
