As part of an ongoing evaluation of equipment and zones, a few key

changes have been put in place around random objects.  {x Overall level of

mid-ranged random prefix and suffixes have been lowered slightly.  This will

allow the possibility for lower level mobs to pop these prefix/suffixes and

also increase the chance of popping pre-fix and suffix randoms.  {x The high

end random prefix/suffixes like Kings and Tas have been slighly upgraded to

differentiate more from the tier directly below.  For example, Avatar and

Kings previously had a gap of 1 stat point on their max items with Kings

being exponenti{x Lastly, 3 new random slots have been added, 1 light, 1

Okay, I added the values for looting, since the owner

value is already in use for corpse looting in general

i went with the following...

 

obj->loot_timer 

obj->looted_by

obj->looted_from

 

The values will only save if the loot_timer is greater than NULL

and I put a check in update.c to clear the values if there is no

active loot_timer ( loot_timer == 0 ) and if there is a loot_timer

active it will decrement it.

Just finished a new zone, legend level neutral aligned mobs.  Links within the underground passage and forest of illusions, if you cant find it ill give more hints tomorrow.{x

A few interesting features....there is a boss mob, the Balrog.  He loads 1 of 3 different clan patches along with mithril links.{x

Mithril links can be used in the dwarven mining encampment in forest of illusions to create items.{x

Not much has changed recently, however there are things in the works.{x

Most of the changes are under the hood, but here is a summary:{x

1) Experience gains/level advance code will be consolidated into one place, with not much visible difference.

2) Double EXP will be replaced by a variable experience modifier (1-10x), with variable level ranges and a timer.

3) The experience modifier will save over copyovers/reboots.

4) References to Distorted Illusions (old name) will be replaced with Asgardian Nightmare.

5) Quests for level 101s will range from level 80-150 mobs instead of 80-120.

6) Clan skill costs will be reembursed, and clans can buy any one minor and any one major skill.

7) A new random equipment system will be put in, with multiple tiers of equipment to avoid the good-prefixes-but-crappy-damdice/ac/etc. situation.

{x   The old randoms will stay the same, however they will no longer be popped. The new randoms will also be colour coded.

I've removed the old(new?) expmod system and replaced it with an automatic system.{x

This new system revolves around vouchers that are dropped as uniques.{x

An example voucher would be "a +0.25x EXP modifier voucher".{x

Each voucher adds a certain modifier to the current modifier, so the example voucher{x

would turn a 2.00x experience modifier into a 2.25x modifier.{x

The maximum modifier is 3.0x fpr time being.{x

In addition, each voucher lasts an hour from when it is used. This means if person A{x

submits a +1.0x voucher, making the expmod 2.0x, then half an hour later, person B submits{x

a 0.5x voucher, making the expmod 2.5x, the modifier will revert to 1.5x half an hour after that.{x

Quest rewards are modified by a separate modifier, the quest reweard modifier, which works{x

in the same way.{x

To redeem a voucher, use "quest sell voucher <vouchertype>" at the quest master.{x

Fixed my local copy of asgard! I can code again!

Look for some of the following in the near future:

* New damage roll usage that allows the weapon to control

{x   damage more than it has in the past.

* New two handed weapon tweak so that they're balanced.

* New tiering system to allow competition and increases

{x   in legend strength. (Yeah, it will be awesome)

As you've noticed, we have moved addresses!{x

This is to reduce the running costs of keeping the mud up and allows us to install{x

whatever we want on the server without having to go through the dune admins.{x

It also allows me to route different ports to the mud port to combat ISP port blocks.{x

Since we've migrated from a 32bit machine to a 64bit machine, there may be some{x

Highlander has been renamed to Barbarian, powerlevels and pk requirement has been removed.{x

Quickening, dual wield mastery, chop, decapitate, and berserk have been removed from the class.{x

Barbarian is gaining the following skills:{x

Fury - hroll/droll/regen bonus with a penalty to ac and fleeing.{x

Twohanded Mastery - Increased bonus to rolling the high arc/viper hits and the ability to roll a new higher damage hit on a small %.{x

Hammerblow - A powerful swing with a twohanded weapon with a chance to knock your opponent to the ground or daze them.{x

Whirlwind - A lighting fast attack of all targets in a room that are not viewed as safe(pets, groups, non-pks).{x
