This patch removes fpReserve from the codebase. I don't believe such a kludge is needed nowadays.

You might wonder why the patch is so large…. apparently when you do a diff from inside svn, it doesn't actually expand the keyword tokens (afterall, I haven't changed the lines with those tokens). The result is a useless comment. Soooo, using svn export, I can get a clean directory to diff that has the tokens expanded. This is important! When trying to help people who are having problems getting things working, it's very helpful to know exactly what version of things they're trying to use… and if they aren't using svn (which most won't be), those tokens need to be right.
